IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls Police arrested Tessa L. Wilde, 24, for robbery after she stole a set of keys out of another woman’s vehicle ignition during a confrontation Friday, Sept. 4.

Police responded to the 1000 block of 10th Street around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a fight in progress, Idaho Falls Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said.

Officers spoke to the victim, a 49-year-old woman, who said Wilde stood in front of her vehicle to get her to stop while she was driving east on 10th Street.

The victim stopped and Wilde proceeded to open the driver’s door and began hitting her and screaming that the vehicle was stolen.

Hansen said police suspected the Idaho Falls woman might have been under the influence.

During the confrontation, Wilde broke the blinker lever off the steering wheel and took the keys from the ignition, according to police news release. Wilde also took a skateboard from the backseat and threatened the victim with it before leaving.

Police found Wilde at a residence in the same block and the vehicle was confirmed to belong to the victim.

Wilde is being held in the Bonneville County Jail on a $12,000 bond. Her arraignment took place Tuesday, Sept. 8.
