Idaho Falls Police and D91 create ‘Cop2ition’ bus safety videos

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls police and Idaho Falls School District 91 have teamed up to create two new “Cop2ition” videos that focus on bus safety.
“The police department is excited to release the new safety videos,” Idaho Falls Police Chief Mark McBride said in a news release. “Not only does Cop2ition help us promote bus safety, but it also helps build and strengthen community partnerships.”
The Cop2ition is a series of public service announcements promoting crime prevention and safety in a humorous and informative video format. The newest videos, which feature Skyline High School drama students and District 91 School Bus Driver Tamara Rumsey, focus on bus safety for riders and motorists.
“We value our relationship with the Idaho Falls Police Department, and appreciated this opportunity to work together to promote school bus safety for both our bus riders and motorists,” D91 spokeswoman Margaret Wimborne said in a news release. “We look forward to working together on future projects that will help make Idaho Falls a safer place for our children.”
The videos, titled “Bus Stop Olympics” and “Buses and Motorists”, were released on the Idaho Falls Police Department’s YouTube channel in conjunction with National Bus Safety Week, Oct. 19 to Oct. 23. National Bus Safety Week is an active and evolving public education program designed to promote the importance of bus safety.
