New High-Tech Playground Installed at Tautphaus Park
Published atIDAHO FALLS – After receiving rave reviews from local kids when a new era of playground equipment was demonstrated at Riverbend Communication’s East Idaho Kid’s Fair last summer, the Idaho Falls Parks & Recreation Department decided to bring high-tech to a local playground.
According to the company’s website, NEOS® combines the speed and fun of electronic games with the explosive movement of aerobic exercise to create the most exciting playground ever to hit play spaces.
The new NEOS® playground equipment was installed at the Equal Access playground in Tautphaus Park last week and is completely ADA accessible.
The total cost of the equipment and installation was approximately $30k and was paid for by insurance money recovered after prior playground equipment was stolen from the Equal Access playground last year.
“There’s no denying that kids today live in a world full of high-tech devices. The NEOS® equipment gives kids the technology they want while getting them outside and active,” states Director of Parks & Recreation, Greg A. Weitzel.
