UPDATE: Police SUV rolls in front of Rexburg McDonalds
Published at | Updated atREXBURG — A police SUV rolled Saturday morning after it was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of University Boulevard and South Highway 191.
Rexburg Police Chief Shane Turman said the accident, which also involved a silver four-door car, occurred shortly before 9 a.m.
Preliminary reports show the police vehicle was traveling east on University Boulevard with its lights on. The officer was responding to an alarm. The officer went through a red light and was T-boned by the silver vehicle.
The officer, who has not been identified, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle also sustained minor injuries. It is unclear if anyone was transported to the hospital.
Turman has requested Idaho State Police investigate the accident. Authorities are asking people to avoid the area.
