BLACKFOOT — The Bingham County Courthouse is currently being evacuated due to a chemical leak.
Sheriff Craig Rowland tells EastIdahoNews.com that clerks in the court office began feeling nauseated after smelling something unusual this afternoon.
The Blackfoot Fire Department responded to the court house and evacuated the building. Firefighters determined chemicals from the boiler system were being emitted into the basement.
Crews are currently working to fix the problem and Rowland expects the courthouse to re-open this afternoon.
