Crews extinguish massive blaze, remain on scene monitoring hot spots

UPDATE 9:00 p.m. Crews say the fire is out and a few firefighters are remaining on scene to make sure there aren’t any flare-ups. EastIdahoNews.com will have an in-depth report Thursday.

IDAHO FALLS — Multiple crews responded to a massive structure fire on the 3000 block of East Lincoln Road Wednesday evening.

The old sugary factory caught on fire around 7:45 p.m. and flames and smoke could be seen for miles in several directions.

Idaho Falls firefighters who first arrived on scene called for additional back-up as flames higher than 30 feet were shooting through the roof.

Crews has the fire under control in nearly 40 minutes and were remaining on scene until the blaze was completely out.

Officials say nobody was injured in the fire and they are working to determine the cause.
