Old sugar factory ‘a complete loss’ after massive fire

IDAHO FALLS — On April 27, 2016 at 7:45 p.m., the Idaho Falls Fire Department was dispatched to 3075 E. Lincoln Road for a structure fire.
The Idaho Falls Fire Department responded with three engines, two ambulances, a battalion chief and a safety officer.
Upon arrival, the cooling towers of the old sugar factory were found to be fully engulfed in flames. The fire was contained to this area, and there was no damage to any of the grain bins or exposures. The fire was then extinguished.
The building is a total loss. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
