IDAHO FALLS — A 23-year-old Idaho Falls woman was arrested for grand theft after she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from Lifetouch Portrait Studio in JC Penney.

Ashley Briggs was an employee at the studio, according to Idaho Falls Police. Store managers told investigators Briggs had been conducting large amounts of fraudulent cash refunds.

Police say Briggs stole between $2,000 and $8,000 between between November and May.

Briggs was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
