Pocatello man arrested in two home break-ins
Published atPOCATELLO — A Pocatello man was arrested Thursday, May 12, in connection to two break-ins after a tip to police.
At the 600 block of West Sherman, a witness saw a man crawl through a window to get into a house. The man later left the house through the front door carrying various items, the witness said.
Officers have identified the suspect as Brian Lynn Cable, 38.
Lt. Ian Nelson of the Pocatello Police Department said based on the description given to police, an officer found Cable some time later and arrested him on the 900 block of North Grant.
Cable admitted to the officer he had broken into another house earlier, Nelson said. He allegedly damaged the sheet rock in the laundry room in that home.
Police did not say what items were taken from the other home, other than saying an Asian hand fan was stolen.
He has been charged with misdemeanor malicious injury to property and felony burglary.
Cable has a criminal record in Bannock County, with a felony conviction for robbery, more than 10 misdemeanor convictions, and, from earlier this month, two pending misdemeanors.
Cable was being held on a $5,000 bond Friday.
