Why are Ririe Reservoir and Blacktail Park closed?

The following is a news release from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office
BONNEVILLE COUNTY — Some have been asking about why Ririe Reservoir and Blacktail Park are closed.
Fire operations are based at the Ririe Dam as well as air support using the lake for a water resource. Anyone in that restricted area will shut down air operations and the ability to fight this fire, putting more people and personnel at risk.
This is also the case with drones and any ATV or UTV equipment headed into the closed area.
We continue to ask the public to stay away from the fire areas for safety and so crews can navigate and work efficiently.
Closed areas are:
East of Bone Road, in particular at Kepps Crossing to Eagle Pass
Blacktail Rd
Johnson Rd
Meadow Creek Rd
Antelope Creek Rd
Fall Creek Rd
Skyline Ridge area
Ririe Reservoir
Blacktail Park
