Two hospitalized after pickup smashes into dump truck

REXBURG — A pickup truck was badly damaged after rear-ending a PSI garbage truck on Thursday morning.

The crash occurred at about 11:40 a.m. along the Lyman-Archer Highway in Madison County.

A man and a woman who were in the pickup truck were transported by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, according to Madison County Sheriff’s Capt. Cameron Stanford. Their condition is unknown.

The identifies of the individuals have not been released pending notification of the families.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office closed a portion of the highway for about 1.5 hours while the crash was cleared.

The driver of the dump truck was uninjured and no one was cited by authorities.

The accident is still under investigation.
