REXBURG — A woman and teenage boy were arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $4,000 worth of tools, electronics, clothing, energy drinks and other items from Walmart.

Heather Parris, 41, is charged with felony burglary, grand theft and petty theft. Parris was with a 15-year-old boy, who is charged with grand theft, burglary, possession of burglary instruments, resisting and obstructing officers and providing false information to law enforcement.

Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis says the pair entered Walmart on Nov. 24 around 9 p.m. and filled up two grocery carts with items. Officers were called and Parris and the teen were arrested as they tried to leave the store. Lewis says the 15-year-old attempted to run from police when they arrived.

Police recovered $3,972.86 worth of stolen property, according to Lewis.

Parris is being held in the Madison County jail on $75,000 bond. The teenager was booked into the 5C Detention Center.
