RIGBY — A shop in the Terrace Hill subdivision in Rigby is a complete loss after a fire destroyed the building Friday.

Central Fire District and the Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to the blaze just after 11 a.m.

“When I got there the building was totally engulfed,” Central Fire Assistant Chief Carl Anderson said.

No one was inside the shop at the time, and no one was injured by the fire.

All the equipment inside the building was destroyed, in addition to a boat, two pickups and a trailer that were parked near the shop.

Several surrounding homes also had siding damaged due to heat from the blaze.

Anderson estimates the fire caused between $120,000 to $140,000 worth of damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
