IDAHO FALLS — A Cadillac had to be pulled from a canal Tuesday evening, after an unidentified driver left the road and crashed into the water.

Police reports say the vehicle plunged into Porter Canal on the east side of the Sandpiper restaurant, located at 750 Lindsay Boulevard at about 7:40 p.m.

Police spokeswoman Jessica Clements said it appears the driver may have had a medical issue.

Both the adult driver and a passenger exited the vehicle on their own. Clements said there were no injuries.

Idaho Falls Police, Idaho Falls Fire and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded. A tow company and dive team helped recover the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
