Car burst into flames on Yellowstone Highway

IDAHO FALLS — A car burst into flames Friday morning on Yellowstone Highway near Idaho Falls.
Firefighters were called in around 8:15 a.m. as the two-door car caught fire near the intersection of Yellowstone Highway and Hitt Road. The Idaho Falls Fire Department responded with a ladder truck which quickly put out the flames.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office briefly blocked the left westbound lane while crews put out the fire and moved the car. Traffic in the area slowed for a time while first responders were on the scene.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
