Lionel Messi Scores 400th Goal for Barcelona
Published at(NEW YORK) — Lionel Messi reached another milestone, scoring his 400th career goal for Barcelona on Saturday in his club’s La Liga meeting with Valencia.
Messi has scored 278 goals in La Liga, 75 in Champions League, 32 in Copa Del Rey, 10 in the Spanish Super Cup, four in the Club World Cup, and one goal in the UEFA Super Cup.
Messi became Barcelona’s all-time goal scorer last March, when he passed Paulino Alcantara, who scored 369 goals for the club between 1912 and 1927.
The Argentina forward has won the Ballon d’Or four times, and holds the record for leading goal scorer in a single La Liga season, with 50 in 2011-12.
