IDAHO FALLS – The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man local law enforcement shot early Monday morning.

Ricky L. Mosley, 31, of Idaho Falls is in critical condition at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was originally taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at 1657 East 49th North in Bonneville County around 1:00 a.m. Monday. Deputies say a pregnant woman had been hit in the head and face multiple times and hit in the stomach. The suspect, the spouse of the pregnant woman, left the scene and was later spotted by Bonneville County deputy at Woodruff and Yellowstone Highway.

During the traffic stop, deputies say the man was uncooperative with sheriff’s deputies and Idaho Falls Police, who also responded.

Bonneville Sgt. Jeff Edwards reports an officer was moving to taser the suspect when Mosley made an unexpected motion. Mosley was tased almost simultaneously with officers firing guns at the suspect. Officers then immediately began to take lifesaving measures.

Deputies will hold a news conference Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. for further details on the shooting.
