Idaho Falls Zoo to hold community appreciation event
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — The Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park will show its appreciation for the community on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Admission to the Zoo will be $1 per person or free with one can of food per person to be donated to the Idaho Falls Food Bank.
This is the first year the Zoo will allow people to donate food for entry into the park, Interim Superintendent Linda Beard said.
“It is a way that we can thank the community and allow them to help as well,” Beard said. “The money raised at the event will also help the community by going to the new bigger education complex for kids and adults.”
Beard said the zoo will feature its normal activities and expects attendance at the event to be higher than normal.
“We have a nice zoo because of the community,” she said.
The zoo’s hours on Aug 29 are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the last admission at 5 p.m.
