UPDATE: Police seek information in Deraek Patrick Larson homicide
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls Police detectives are continuing to look into any information or leads, which could lead to solving the murder of 31-year-old Deraek Patrick Larson.
The Idaho Falls man was killed at a playground in Tautphaus Park early Sunday morning.
The police department is asking for assistance from the public regarding information about Larson, his death or suspicious activity that occurred at Tautphaus Park between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The police department responded to the park around 10 a.m. on Sunday, after Tom Haney of Idaho Falls discovered Larson’s body at a playground north of the tennis courts and east of the skateboard park.
The incident was ruled a homicide around 4 p.m. based on initial evidence collected at the scene, officials said in a Monday news release. Police believe Larson was specifically targeted by a single or multiple perpetrators.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Monday night.
