Published at | Updated at
The following is a statement released by Kunz family private investigator Philip Klein regarding DeOrr Kunz, Jr.
“For the past six weeks investigators in the DeOrr Kunz, Jr., case have poured over 1,000 documents, conducted over 80 interviews, and conducted over 500 man hours of investigation in the case. Today we announce preliminary conclusions and the direction that the team will now investigate this case.
1) The team has ruled out any attack by a wild animal – beyond a reasonable doubt. There is no evidence to support this theory whatsoever.
2) The team has ruled out a forced abduction of DeOrr Kunz, Jr. – beyond a reasonable doubt. There is no evidence to support this theory whatsoever.
a. Investigators have determined beyond a reasonable doubt, there is no evidence to support the sighting of a black Rubicon Jeep.
b. Investigators have determined beyond a reasonable doubt, there was no secondary party in the immediate proximity of the Timber Creek campground that has not been vetted and cleared that could have participated in a forced abduction.
3) The team has NOT ruled out this case as a death – either accidental or with intent.
We are now focused on the dynamics of the case and ask the public to report any information they may have to the DeOrr Kunz, Jr. Hotline at 409-729-8798 x3 or law enforcement.
As we have said, we believe this case is solvable and we believe there are other parties that want to come forward and have not. We strongly suggest now is the time to come forward.
