Professional musicians to perform with Madison students
Published at | Updated atREXBURG – Madison High School students will be performing alongside professional musicians Tuesday, March 22.
Madison Presents will be hosting a Best of the Duttons event, which host the Duttons, six international touring and recording artists from Branson, Missouri. They perform in bluegrass to classical music, according to the official Dutton family website.
They perform on the violin, keyboard, guitar, harmonica, mandolin and more. They also incorporate clogging routines.
The Duttons have been recognized for the both their musical and vocal talent. They were also finalists on NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2007. They own two theaters in Branson as well as Mesa, Arizona.
David Hinck, director of Madison High School choirs, said Madison Presents is a fundraising effort where all proceeds go to cover individual student fees in the performing arts programs. Money raised also goes toward the Madison Performing Arts general fund.
“It’s going to be an evening of great world-class entertainment. The Duttons have been voted one of the top shows in Branson,” Hinck said
Hinck said Madison Presents also opens doors for students to work with professional artists.
“That’s one of the goals of Madison Presents, and one of the things we look for as we’re trying to choose a group to bring in is that they are willing to share the stage with our own students,” Hinck said.
The band, orchestra, and choir will be joining the Duttons on several numbers along with their own individual performances.
Tickets are $10 per person. Hinck said each student has a code that buyers can use when purchasing their ticket. Six dollars from the price will go toward the students’ individual fee, and $4 will go toward the general fund.
The performance will be held at the Madison Performing Arts center in Rexburg, Tuesday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. Codes must be acquired from students to donate to their individual accounts.
