‘Armed, dangerous’ Idaho doctor wanted after being found guilty of 66 drug charges

COEUR D’ALENE — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is searching for a northern Idaho doctor who was found guilty of 66 drug distribution and drug conspiracy charges.

Rafael L. W. Beier is wanted for failure to appear for the end of his trial when the jury returned its verdict.

He was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, 61 counts of distribution of controlled substances and four counts of distribution of controlled substances to an individual under 21.

On May 17, a federal arrest warrant was obtained for Beier in the United States District Court for the District of Idaho after he was charged federally with failure to appear for return of verdict.

The FBI says Beier is considered armed and dangerous and is an escape risk.
