Here’s why dozens were running from undercover cops in Idaho Falls Saturday

IDAHO FALLS — It was the ultimate game of cops and robbers and it was all for a good cause.

Dozens of boys, girls, men and women spent Saturday morning running from local police officers as part of the annual Idaho Falls Police FOP 5-0 5K race.

Participants wore flags and tried to avoid “undercover cops” throughout the course as “good cops” helped them along the way.

If runners arrived at the finish line with a flag still attached, they received a prize.

Money raised from the race goes toward scholarships for students. Last year, $6,000 in scholarships was awarded to local youth.
