Salmon River claims the life of 68-year-man
Published at | Updated atSALMON — Authorities have recovered the body of a 68-year-old man who drowned in the Salmon River on Saturday.
The Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office, including search and rescue personnel, responded the area of the river between Shoup Bridge along U.S. Highway 93 and the town of Salmon just after 5 p.m.
Sheriff Lynn Bowerman said Thomas Harr, of Salmon, was in a small inflatable catamaran-type boat. At some point, Harr became separated from the boat and drowned.
Harr’s drowning was witnessed by others that were on the river with him. He was not wearing a life vest, Bowerman said.
