Police investigate cause of baby’s cardiac arrest
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls police are looking into what caused a baby to go into cardiac arrest Thursday.
Just before noon, the Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to a home on the corner of 17th Street and South Higbee Avenue.
The 9-month-old child in cardiac arrest was taken from the home by paramedics and rushed to the hospital.
Idaho Falls Police Chief Mark McBride tells EastIdahoNews.com that officers are investigating the actual cause of the injuries the child suffered.
“Anytime you have injuries uncommon to normal childhood, we look into it,” McBride said.
Police are calling the situation suspicious but are not calling the parents suspects.
Several detectives are at the house, including a crime scene investigation unit.
