GILMORE — The Lemhi County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue teams are searching the mountains west of Gilmore to find a man who went missing Sunday.

The man, whose name has not been release, is in his 50s and a diabetic, according to neighbors. Authorities tell EastIdahoNews.com that he left his home in Gilmore on Saturday morning on a yellow four-wheeler.

Officers say the man told his wife he’d be back shortly, but she became concerned and called police when he did not return home by 6 p.m.

Law enforcement, locals and campers in the area searched for the man Sunday night.

The search continued Monday morning and a helicopter with a thermal camera had been called in to assist.

Lemhi County received its first snowfall of the year on Sunday night.

EastIdahoNews.com has a crew at the scene and will post updates when more details are released.
