Rexburg Animal Shelter undergoes major upgrades thanks to grant

REXBURG — The Rexburg Animal Shelter is undergoing some much needed renovations after receiving a grant for nearly $10,000.
The Petco Foundation awarded $9,500 to the shelter allowing workers to purchase a veterinary quality table. This means minor procedures can now be completed in the shelter with the help local veterinarians.
The money also paid for IT upgrades, a computer, two tablets, beds in the dog rooms and food bowls and water dishes attached to each cage.
“All of these upgrades are to help improve the quality of life for the animals in our care,” Rexburg Animal Control Officer Stephen Buzzell said. “This will allow us to continue serving our community and further decrease the need for euthanasia.”
