DAILY FORECAST: Mix of sun and clouds throughout eastern Idaho

IDAHO FALLS — There are no severe weather alerts in eastern Idaho for Thursday, March 2. The National Weather Service reports a mix of sun and clouds throughout eastern Idaho with a few isolated snow showers.

No major road closures are in effect.

Idaho Highway 33 between Newdale and Tetonia and Idaho Highway 32 between Ashton and Tetonia remain under a difficult driving advisory. The Idaho Transportation Department reports packed snow and icy patches on the roadway.

A surface water warning remains in effect for U.S. Highway 91, 3 to 7 miles north of the Preston area. The impacted area is from milepost 16 to 20. Officials urge extreme caution on the road.

Idaho Falls and Rexburg

The Rexburg and Idaho Falls areas will see mostly clouds Thursday with highs of 27 to 37 degrees. Southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph are also expected. Thursday night temperatures will drop to between 15 to 24 degrees and the wind will die down.

Pocatello

This Pocatello region will be partly sunny Thursday with high temperatures of 31 to 40 degrees. South winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected. At night, cloud cover will increase, temperatures will drop to between 17 and 26 degrees and the wind will die down.

St. Anthony, Ashton, Island Park, Driggs, and Victor

The Upper Valley and Teton Valley will be mostly cloudy Thursday with some isolated snow showers. Temperatures will be between 24 to 34 degrees. At night temperatures will drop to between 15 to 22 degrees with a continued chance of snow.

Arco, Challis, and Mackay

The region will be partly sunny Thursday with highs of 31 to 41 degrees. At night clouds will roll in and temperatures will drop to between 16 to 23 degrees.

Henry, Soda Springs, Downey, and Lava Hot Springs

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with highs of 29 to 37 degrees. At night the clouds will remain and temperatures will drop to between 13 and 23 degrees.
