UPDATE:

Idaho State Police officials report there was a total of five people in the three vehicles involved in the crash.

Four of the five individuals were taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, according to a news release. One person went by air ambulance, two went by ground ambulance and one went by private vehicle. The fifth person was not injured.

All occupants were wearing their seat belts.

At this time names are not being released.

ORIGINAL STORY

RIGBY — An unknown number of people are being transported to local hospitals after a three-vehicle crash in Rigby on Friday evening.

The crash happened at about 8:50 p.m. on 300 North across from the Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby.

It is unclear how the crash occurred, but at least one of the vehicles — a black truck — rolled as a result of being hit. At least one person had to be extricated from a vehicle by responders.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene from multiple agencies. Central Fire District, Idaho Falls Fire Department, Rigby Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho State Police were all at the scene.

As of 9:30 p.m. an air ambulance had been called to the scene. At around 10 p.m. one individual was taken from the scene by helicopter.

Few details have been released about the occupants of the vehicles, but officials tell EastIdahoNews.com that at least three people are in critical condition.
