Central Fire District chief terminated due to recurring personnel issues
Published at | Updated atRIGBY — Central Fire District Chief Bryan Grover was terminated Friday.
Central Fire Commission Chairman Roger Anderson said Grover was fired because of recurring personnel issues.
“We felt like we needed a change in leadership, and there were some issues that we really can’t comment on,” Anderson said. “It’s been ongoing. It’s not just one specific thing.”
Grover had been with the department for around four years.
“We wish Bryan all the best. We don’t have any ill feelings (toward) Bryan,” Anderson said.
Assistant Fire Chief Carl Anderson is now the interim director. Advertising for a new chief will begin next week.
Carl Anderson is eligible to apply for the position, but if it is filled by another candidate he will continue to be assistant fire chief.
“We hope we get some really qualified applicants,” Roger Anderson said. “We’re going to make a good search and make sure that we get the right person for the job,”
The Central Fire District services Ririe, Rigby, Menan, Lewisville and parts of Madison and Bonneville counties.
