Boise fire engine falls into sinkhole after water main break

BOISE — Roads remain blocked on the Boise State campus Tuesday morning after a water main break caused flooding and caused a fire engine to plunge into a sinkhole.
The water line ruptured Monday evening near the Student Union Building Monday evening. A Boise Fire Department fire truck fell into the sinkhole at around 7 p.m. Monday.
“Please avoid the area of Lincoln and University. A water line has broken and flooded the area. A tow company is working to remove our fire engine that is partially stuck in a sinkhole,” the fire department tweeted.
The intersection of University Drive and Lincoln Avenue is scheduled to be closed through Wednesday morning, or until road repairs are done.
