In the days leading up to Christmas, EastIdahoNews.com will post conversations with individuals who have produced work designed to help others feel the spirit of Christmas. We are calling these conversations “Creating Christmas” because the men and women behind these Christmas projects make it Christmas for people of all ages.

Our second conversation is with Rick Goldschmidt.

Goldschmidt is the official historian for Rankin/Bass Productions, the company behind the popular animated Christmas shows “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, “Frosty the Snowman,” and others.

We spoke with Rick about the partnership of Arthur Rankin, Jr. and Jules Bass, the development of these shows, and an anticipated documentary of the company in the works.

Enjoy our conversation with Rick Goldschmidt.
