REXBURG — A man is in jail after allegedly touching an elderly woman inappropriately while working at a rehabilitation center.

Brandon Bowcut, 38, was arrested on one felony charge of sexual abuse and exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

The alleged incident happened at Madison Carriage Cove on West 1st North and involved a 76-year-old patient.

“She was being treated for some injuries and allegations were made that Bowcut, a CNA, inappropriately touched her during treatment,” Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis tells EastIdahoNews.com.

Police investigated the claim and arrested Bowcut, a Brigham Young University-Idaho student from Wyoming, on Friday, Feb. 16. He was booked into the Madison County Jail.

Detectives are investigating whether other patients may have been victimized.

Bowcut is scheduled to appear in court this week.
