Get Ready for Idaho Falls Zoo’s 2018 Season, Volunteers Needed
Published at | Updated atThe following is a news release from the city of Idaho Falls.
IDAHO FALLS – Idaho Falls Zoo is excited to announce that, weather dependent, Saturday, April 7 will be the opening day for the 2018 season! In preparation for another exciting season, we need the community’s help to tidy up the zoo grounds.
On Saturday, March 31, zoo staff will host the annual Clean-up Day.
“We are very fortunate to have so many volunteers and service groups return each year to assist us with a variety of projects such as cleaning, raking, and mulching to get the zoo ready for opening day,” states Education Curator, Sunny Katseanes. “We invite them to join us once again.”
Volunteers are asked to bring their own supplies including work gloves, grass rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows. Employees will meet volunteers at the front gate of the zoo anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on March 31 and provide further instructions.
For volunteers under the age of 18, they must be part of a group such as a family, club or organization and a City of Idaho Falls Volunteer Release of Liability form must be completed and signed by a legal guardian. Please bring the completed form with you and present it to zoo staff upon arrival on March 31.
Qualified adult leaders or supervisors must accompany all youth and service groups from their respective organizations at all times.
For additional information on Clean-up Day, contact Darrell Markum, General Curator at (208) 612-8419 or dmarkum@idahofallszoo.org.
