Yellowstone Bear World welcomes 9 bear cubs
Published at | Updated atMADISON COUNTY — The Yellowstone Bear World family is growing with the birth of nine black bear cubs in January.
Seven male and two female twins will make their public debut this weekend at Cabela’s in Ammon as part of the “Spring Great Outdoor Days.” Customers can get their photo taken with a bear cub as part of the event.
“The bear cubs are born when their moms are still in hibernation,” Yellowstone Bear World spokesman Courtney Ferguson says. “When they’re born, they’re not much bigger than a stick of butter. They just cuddle up to mom and they’ll grow throughout hibernation so they can walk out of the den in March or April.”
Yellowstone Bear World opens for the season on April 22. Click here for more information and learn more about the cubs by watching the video above.
