3 people arrested at Fort Hall Casino for allegedly shooting Montana deputy
Published at | Updated atFORT HALL — Three men were apprehended at the Fort Hall Casino Wednesday after allegedly shooting at a Montana sheriff’s deputy earlier in the day, according to a news release from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.
Idaho State Police identified the three people taken into custody and say a fourth individual was also arrested as part of the investigation Thursday.
ISP detectives received information that Kolby David Schmidt and two other unidentified males were involved in the shooting and that they may be in the Blackfoot area driving a blue Chrysler 300, according to an ISP news release. Further investigation led detectives to believe they had switched cars and were driving a grey Nissan Rogue with California license plates.
The Nissan was located at the Fort Hall Casino.
During the arrest, ISP Investigations Lt. Clint Skinner told KTVH that police recovered multiple firearms and a significant amount of drugs and cash.
Schmidt is being held at the Bingham County Jail on charges of trafficking heroin and unlawful possession of a firearm. Marengo is accused of trafficking heroin. Holloway was arrested for grand theft for possession of a stolen firearm and possession of methamphetamine.
Angie Marie Ahern-Krogstead of California was also implicated in illegal activities associated with the Montana crimes. ISP arrested her Thursday after a search warrant was obtained for her vehicle. They discovered meth and cocaine were found in her purse.
She’s charged with possession of drugs and also booked into the Bannock County Jail.
