Child killed in northern Idaho crash

On Jan. 21, at 7:44 a.m., a fatality crash occurred on SH 200 at Sunnyside Road, three miles east of Ponderay.
A black 1998 Subaru Forester, driven by Keanu M. Dooley, 22, of Sandpoint, was traveling westbound when he attempted to turn left onto Sunnyside Road. A white 2017 Ford F350 pickup going eastbound, driven by Wesley J. Free, 29, of Sagle, T-boned Mr. Dooley’s Subaru on the passenger side. A juvenile, who was restrained in a child-seat from Mr. Dooley’s vehicle, died at the scene.
Neither Dooley nor Free was wearing a seat belt.
The investigation is continuing.
