In this edition of East Idaho Newsmakers, we’re talking about Stop The Bleed.

Idaho Falls School District 91 has teamed up with Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to conduct Stop The Bleed training in all its schools.

The Stop the Bleed program helps save lives by raising awareness about basic actions anyone can do to stop life-threatening bleeding after everyday accidents, emergencies or natural disasters. It is part of a national awareness campaign and call-to-action initiated by a federal interagency workgroup and supported by the American College of Surgeons.

Nate Eaton speaks with Margaret Wimborne, a spokeswoman for District 91, Kristi Caldera, the Director of ICU at EIRMC, and Coleen Niemann, a spokeswoman for EIRMC.

Watch the video above for the entire conversation.
