REXBURG — Adams Elementary School in Rexburg is closing its doors Tuesday and Wednesday due to a large number of sick students.
School officials tell EastIdahoNews.com that 61 of the 280 students at Adams Elementary were absent Monday due to illness and there has been a high amount of medically confirmed influenza cases among students.
Jessica Goudy, the spokeswoman for Madison School District 321, says students at other schools have reported being sick but Adams has the highest number of absences at nearly 22 percent. Goudy says school administrators are monitoring the situation at all schools but as of now, Adams Elementary is the only school being canceled.

Classes at Adams are scheduled to resume Thursday.
