‘Our hearts are broken.’ Cabin belonging to popular bloggers burns down
Published at | Updated atPALISADES — A cabin belonging to a couple who runs a popular blog burned down Monday and is considered a total loss.
Chris and Julia Marcum said that they own the cabin along the banks of the Palisades Reservoir. The fire started around 7:30 a.m. and both the Swan Valley and Ammon Fire Departments responded to the scene.
The Marcums run Chris Loves Julia – a do-it-yourself home design and decorating website. They were remodeling the cabin and documenting their progress with the most recent post on Friday about their kitchen.

“The good news is the appliances are here, and they are amazing. This post isn’t about those (yet!) because we’re still waiting on a handle for the dishwasher and then I’ll show them off,” Julia wrote.
The Marcums posted about the fire on social media Monday morning:
Our hearts are broken — This morning, we’ve lost our beloved A-frame cabin to a fire. We are overwhelmed with shock and loss, and thank you for your patience and prayers while we grieve this very special place for our family. We’re grateful to you — for your excitement over this home and your sensitivity now. And we’re grateful to the universe for the seasons we spent there; the rooms, the view, and the love we shared there will live on forever. #cljcabin
Nobody was hurt in the fire, and officials are working to determine the cause.
