Students encouraged to submit work for Congressional Art Competition
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — Students in eastern Idaho are invited to participate in the 2019 Congressional High School Art Competition. This year’s theme is My Heritage. My Future. My Idaho.
The Congressional High School Art Competition first began in 1982. Since then, more than 650,000 high school students have participated in the competition.
Participants have the chance to win a round trip flight to Washington D.C. to attend a special reception in June and see their artwork displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol Building. The winner can take one guest and join hundreds of high school artists from across the United States as their artwork is unveiled.
“We saw a great jump in our submissions last year, and we are hoping to have even more high school students participate in 2019,” said Brennan Summers, regional director for Congressman Mike Simpson.
