A Feel Good Friday thank you for a Fred Meyer cashier who saved a woman from a scammer

We want to thank people in our community with random acts of kindness and leave you feeling good.
We recently learned about Amy – an employee at Fred Meyer who saved a local woman from losing a lot of money to a scammer.
Amy noticed the shopper wandering around the store for a few hours while talking on the phone. The woman approached Amy’s cash register with multiple gift cards and said that the person on the phone had told her to purchase the cards to help with “technical support.”
Realizing this was a scam, Amy informed the shopper that she should hang up on the caller. The cashier then took the woman’s phone and the scammer refused to tell her anything – so Amy ended the call.
The shopper was relieved and thankful for Amy’s actions and contacted the Idaho Falls Police Department to praise her actions.
We decided to thank Amy for taking a stand and visited her during a shift this week.
