Detectives investigating after man found shot to death near Osgood

RIGBY — Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was apparently shot inside a camper trailer in the Osgood area.
At about 7 p.m. Sunday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrived at 13 North 3100 East to investigate a suspicious death.
Deputies said in a news release they found 56-year-old Donald Ellingford dead inside the trailer. It’s not clear what event occurred leading up to his death, but an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
Deputies say through investigation they believe unknown persons fired a bullet from outside the trailer, which struck Ellingford. Investigators believe the shooting happened between Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m.
The Idaho State Police are helping Jefferson County with the case. Officials believe the shooting of Ellingford as an isolated incident.
