2 people rescued from crash after pickup nearly falls into gorge
Published at | Updated atTWIN FALLS – Multiple agencies worked together to rescue passengers from a vehicle that nearly fell into a gorge.
Idaho State Police posted a photo of a pickup dangling from the bridge over Malad Gorge northwest of Twin Falls around 5 p.m.
“A HEROIC effort by multiple emergency response agencies means both occupants of this pickup are safe. They’re en route to area hospitals with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries,” ISP tweeted.

The crash occurred along Interstate 84. An Idaho State Police trooper and tow truck driver happened to be in the area when the crash occurred, according to KMVT.
Safety chains connected to a camper reportedly kept it from falling into the ravine.
The cause of the crash has not been released. The eastbound lane of I-84 is expected to remain closed for the next several hours while crews work to clean up the wreckage. Traffic is being rerouted to U.S. Highway 30 through Buhl and Twin Falls.
ISP is grateful to all the agencies and “quick thinking” individuals who stepped in to help.
