ORIGINAL STORY:
IDAHO FALLS — Northbound traffic on Interstate 15 in Idaho Falls is backed up for miles and the freeway is closed between Sunnyside Road and West Broadway Street due to a rollover on the Broadway Bridge.
The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Two vehicles were involved with one rolling over, according to Idaho Falls Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon. Nobody was injured.
“Because of the position of the cars, we had to shut down traffic northbound on I-15,” Hammon tells EastIdahoNews.com. “There are two semis blocking both lanes of northbound traffic with their flashers. We are diverting traffic on the off-ramp at I-15 and Broadway and on I-15 and Sunnyside.”
The restrictions will be in place until the vehicles can be removed.
Multiple ambulances responded to the scene. Idaho Falls Police and Idaho State Police are helping with traffic control.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
