IDAHO FALLS — Classic cars, motorcyclists, and drag racing enthusiasts are invited to come together Friday ahead of the 30th annual Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race.

Idaho Falls Rotary member Kerry Hammon says anyone can bring their classic or custom car, truck or motorcycle Friday night and join the Classic Car Cruise that begins at 6 p.m. The cruise will start at Heritage Park, which is located on the west side of the river in Snake River Landing.

Drivers will cruise through downtown as a group and collect poker cards during a poker run.

The cruise and poker run will end at Idaho Falls Cars and Trucks located at 880 W. Broadway. Hammon says everyone is invited to join cruise drivers for dinner and awards at 6:30 p.m. Free hamburgers will be provided by Sam’s Club and there will be live music.

For the first time, a Ford vs. Ferrari exhibition and Steve Cook Racing Dragster Demonstration will be held on Denver Street behind Idaho Falls Cars and Trucks at 6:45 p.m.

The following day, the Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race will be held. The Idaho Falls Rotary Club will host a variety of events for all ages, including speedboat racing, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Other fun events include a muscle man semi pull, car show, Home Depot build-it workshop, Cabela’s kid-friendly archery, a military flyover, helicopter and Idaho Falls Fire Department ladder truck display, car show, food vendors and more!

Over the past 30 years, more than $5.5 million has been raised from the duck race with matching funds from the City of Idaho Falls. The money goes directly to improvements for the Greenbelt River Walk.
