Construction workers break ground on 227 unit apartment complex in Idaho Falls
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — A new apartment complex is coming to Idaho Falls and people will be able to pre-lease as soon as next year.
Jackson Hole Junction and Helu broke ground on a new 227 unit apartment complex Friday afternoon. The Pioneer Crossing Apartments at 3040 South Fork Boulevard across from the Holiday Inn will start pre-leasing in the fall of 2022. There will be a large clubhouse and the amenities include a pool, hot tub, fire pit, workout facility, a dog park and more.
The square footage will range anywhere from 600 to 1,100 square feet per unit. There will be one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units available. The units will not be furnished but will have a washer and dryer installed.
“We all know everyone was hit pretty hard by COVID-19. Big plans were shut down, small businesses were put out, and hope for many was dwindling. We truly feel honored to help and be part of the new growth and new beginnings after such a long two years,” said Jay Minnick, president and CEO of Helu.
There’s no word yet on when the project will be complete or how much the units will cost.
Earlier this year, Jackson Hole Junction announced Ron Sayer Chrysler Jeep Dodge would be moving onto the site that would’ve been the home of Showbiz Cinemas. Ground was broken for the movie theater and entertainment complex in February 2020 and was later forced to back out due to financial losses resulting from the pandemic.

Ron Sayer Principal/Owner Kelly Sayer told EastIdahoNews.com in an interview last month that construction on the 37,500-square-foot dealership is underway.
“We’re pouring the footings right now,” Sayer said.
The dealership is slated for completion in December 2022.
