UPDATE: Camper destroyed, dogs killed in fire north of Idaho Falls

A fire destroyed a camper, killed four dogs and damaged a nearby barn north of Idaho Falls Tuesday afternoon.
The fire broke out on the 7000 block of North Yellowstone Highway around 1 p.m. Firefighters with the Idaho Falls and Ucon fire departments arrived and found the camper and barn in flames. The Idaho Falls Fire Department reports in a news release that livestock and propane tanks were nearby the burning camper and building.
Crews had the flames knocked down by 1:22 p.m., but the camper is a complete loss.
A man used the camper as his home but was uninjured. At least four dogs in the camper were killed, but the livestock in the area, including a camel, were unharmed.
The estimated damages are unknown at this time and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

IDAHO FALLS — A camper and a nearby building were damaged in a fire near Idaho Falls Tuesday afternoon.
Idaho Falls Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon tells EastIdahoNews.com the blaze began on the 7000 block of North Yellowstone Highway shortly after 1 p.m. The flames are out, as of 1:50 p.m. The extent of the damage is unknown.
It is not clear as to what started the fire or if there are any injuries.
