Every week I’m interviewing fascinating people in our community, nation and around the world.

Ryan Crouser is an Olympic gold medalist who excels at shot putting and discus throwing. He currently holds the world record in both the indoor and outdoor shot put.

Ryan was recently in Pocatello for the Simplot Games and sat down with me for 7 Questions. Here is what I asked him:

  • When did you first become interested in shot put and discus throwing?
  • What was the hardest part about training for the Olympics?
  • How have you managed to keep going when things got tough or you were injured?
  • What is your favorite thing about being an athlete?
  • What was it like the moment you learned you won a gold medal?
  • Where do you keep your Olympic medals?
  • What is your favorite way to have an Idaho potato?
  • And a bonus question…Can you share a piece of advice that might help our viewers and me?
