A GOOD SAMARITAN — A baby boy is alive today thanks to a stranger who saved him from rolling into traffic in his stroller.

The heart-stopping ordeal was caught on surveillance video and shared by CBS Sacramento on May 4. In the video, a woman, who is the baby’s great-aunt, is seen at a car wash getting ready to put the baby into the car. The woman had her back turned to the baby when a gust of wind pushed the stroller away.

The woman quickly turned around only to see a horrifying sight — the stroller quickly making its way toward a busy road in Hesperia, California.

“The speed limit here is 40 miles per hour,” the video mentioned.

She tried to chase after the baby but fell in the process and struggled to get back on her feet. But within seconds of a disaster, a hero appeared.

“She sees nobody. She sees the child going into the street. That’s all she sees. She can’t do nothing,” Ron Nessman said.

Nessman was sitting on a bench outside the car wash when he saw the panicked woman and nightmare unfolding. He rushed to the stroller and stopped it from going onto the road.

“I didn’t even have time to think about it. You just react,” he told CBS Sacramento. “I said, ‘I got it!’”

Nessman shared that his girlfriend suddenly died in 2018, and after her death, he “didn’t want to do anything” and became homeless. He recently moved to Hesperia to reconnect with his family.

He had wrapped up a job interview right before he noticed the stroller making its way to the road.

“I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I did nothing,” he said. “I’m glad I realized it and was on it.”
